My Etsy Shop Got Suspended

My Etsy Shop is permanently suspended.
And it was over this listing: Dahmer's Dating Service
When I started my business, I was at a crossroads of deciding to combine my passions: my hand-made crafts and true-crime. It wasn't until I was encouraged by my business coach at the time to combine the two. With my background as a first responder and a former forensic investigator, I thought "hell, it's worth a shot".
I never expected that my morbid curiosity with serial killers and horror would start to elevate my success. My sales exponentially increased overnight when I created my first Gein shirt. The timing of this surge in sales coincided with the premiere of "Monster: The Ed Gein Story". For the first time in a while, I was ecstatic. Not just for the sound of the "cha-ching" I heard every time an order came in. But the fact that I had like-minded people from literally around the world that also had an interest in the macabre.
Not only did my Gein merchandise sell, but a lot of my hand-made items did as well. From my DNA earrings and bullet earrings to my hand-poured candles. All of my effort of creating, designing, and learning about how to run an e-commerce shop was coming to fruition. The late nights working on optimizing my Etsy listings, and simultaneously designing a website by myself finally paid off.
Until, I got that email on October 31st, 2025 stating my Etsy shop, SkeletonCrewGifts, was SUSPENDED.
Literally in a moment, all my hard work the past year and a half was thrown away.
I immediately appealed, which is natural in my relentless behavior.
Response: PERMANENT SUSPENSION.
Honestly, it fucking sucked reading that.
I started having doubts. I had invested in learning some new skills and obtaining more equipment to bring better quality items to my inventory. But without a customer base, I started to think that I should just stop in my tracks before I get in too deep.
Then, I thought to myself: WTF am I thinking?!
Why stop now after all the effort I put in? I just had to take a different approach in my mentality.
So, I immediately went to work on my main website. I'm restructuring my efforts on how to create more traffic, and still fuel my passion. I even created more merchandise that has been added to my shop.
There is no sense in just stopping in your tracks, mulling on negativity, and deciding to just quit. All that hard work would be lost in vain. And I refuse to give it my all.
This might be a HUGE bump in my business journey, but I know in my heart it isn't the end. It's a new beginning.
